Before I started working with Thomas I didn’t go to a gym. I couldn’t figure out which machines I was supposed to use or which exercises would be most worthwhile. I felt weak and sloppy and quickly gave up because I didn’t see results right away.
But Thomas taught me the proper techniques, allowing me to bench-press right alongside the big, strong men at the gym. I’ve also learned to be patient and to think long-term.
Throughout my course I’ve followed Fortius Fitness’ food pyramid, which – unlike many of the other meal plans I’ve tried – is super simple and easy to follow.
Everything has gone down according to my own terms, leaving room for good times and birthdays, which I’m sure has helped me be able to stick with it this time.

“I’ve actually always considered myself to be relatively fit.
I’ve been very physically active and have run a lot, among other things, but in the last few years my work has given me 1-3 travel days each week.
During this period I’ve struggled to find time and energy to simultaneously remain physically active.
I gradually started to gain weight and feel my body getting weaker and weaker, slowly wasting away.
I wanted to get back to it, but all I’ve ever really known was running, which had caused me several injuries and thus didn’t quite fire up my motivation.
For several months I’d looked at Fortius Fitness, but I wasn’t sure it was the right thing for me.
But with a more and more stressful daily life along with knowing I was nearing the skiing trip of my life to Japan (where I’d have to keep up with a very ambitious family), I decided that now was the time!

We chose Fortius Fitness and personal training because both of our bodies needed strengthening and a tightening-up of the typical female problem areas.
At the same time, we had to change our diet to one that was healthier, using the recipes we were given – which was definitely a big help. This has definitely given us a BOOST both physically and mentally – which we can clearly feel, even while training.

“I’d given strength training a try on my own in the past but I hadn’t managed to keep it going. I felt it was hard to keep up the training routine and I wasn’t seeing any progress with my weight.
I also tried out Cross-fitness for a while, but unfortunately strained my knee due to using the wrong technique as well as lacking competent guidance from the instructor. This put my training on hold for a good while.
Once my knees recovered, it was hard to get started with training again for the fear of recurring pains. I also was starting to experience further irritations – from my shoulder and neck, among other spots – which was simply due to a lack of strength, making it clear to me that my body needed training.
It was natural for me to choose personal training to get just the right instruction and avoid injuries. At the same time, I wanted a competent trainer who could help me forward, not letting me give up along the way.
My trainer was dedicated, encouraging and supportive from start to finish. Throughout the process, she managed in a very respectful and acknowledging way to push me little by little – and I can now lift more than I ever would have thought was possible.
Thanks to my trainer, I’ve started to find the fighter in myself, and I now think it’s fun to push myself and set new goals. My training program is simple and effective, taking me less than an hour to get through.

Before I started with you I was embarrassed about my body. I wore large, loose clothes that covered every part.
Countless times I’d tried getting started in gyms on my own, but always within a few weeks I’d hit a dead end.
Within the first week I’d already failed with the diet, as I don’t have a lot of creativity when it comes to healthy food – I’d just eat chicken and boiled vegetables, which gets old pretty fast! 😒

“My name is Sandra and I’m 45 years old.
Since giving birth to my two kids (aged 8 and 10 today), I’ve tried to get in shape. I started out with several initiatives but was never able to maintain momentum. Each time, I felt like a failure for not being able to realize my goals.
Like many other women, I’ve struggled with post-birth challenges. I’ve also had shin splints and a troublesome knee, the latter thanks to having tried out a kick-boxing app at a tempo that I wasn’t in shape for.
I’ve scouted several possibilities for a personal trainer in the many, various gyms of the Copenhagen area. The trainers were often younger and in incredible shape. With my 45-year-old tummy and hips, I felt a little embarrassed at the idea of sharing my shortcomings in such a setting.
I was referred to Fortius Fitness by a friend of mine who experienced wonderful results in a short time. Visiting their website, I was matched with Mia, with whom I then had a great introductory talk. She’s around my age and has had three kids of her own and thus understood the challenges I was facing.
Needless to say, I was not super pleased with my somewhat chubby body. But I’d almost given up.
I’d tried several initiatives to get back into shape, such as running along to a fitness app, yoga, and getting online guidance to strengthen my core. Carried out each of these initiatives in the hopes of changing my life – but my butt, tummy and hips only got bigger, the pounds steadily piling on.

“I no longer have daily back pain and I’ve found the desire to train. I’ve lost weight, something I actually never thought would happen, and I feel better than I have in years”*
“Since I was a child I’ve had back problems, with pain on a daily basis. I haven’t been good at getting my exercise done, nor have I ever enjoyed it.
In addition, I’ve spent most of the last four years working abroad, in countries with severely limited access to exercise and proper food. When I was home between stints I found training and a healthy diet a hassle
When I returned home to Denmark I was tired of it – and tired of myself, as well – and therefore I decided to give personal training a try. I wanted to have a stronger back and to find the desire to train. Weight loss was really only secondary. I’d tried before and it hadn’t ever made a big difference, but it really would have been nice to lose a few pounds if possible.
I was pretty skeptical at first when Simon said he was sure that he could help me reach all my goals. Especially when he told me that the goal was to be able to hold the plank for 45 seconds with 44 lbs. When I started, my body was shaking for only 30 seconds with zero lbs.
It’s been amazing having Simon as a personal trainer. He’s super engaged and motivated and is always upbeat. We’ve had a lot of fun conversations as I held the plank, sweating – or maybe more between the exercises when I was actually able to talk.
He’s well-grounded in his field and understands that I am/was scared of my back pain. Still, he’s been able to push me to my limits, showing me that I can do more than I think – so long as I do it the right way.
I really thought the dietary changes would be hard and had loads of questions about it at the start. Simon always had lots of good ideas for different dishes and for how I could switch up the calories to make room for both cappuccinos and iced coffees, which I really couldn’t do without.
When I started training on my own between our sessions, he cheered me on via SMS. On the whole, he’s been just as happy as me with my results throughout the course, and he’s pushed me to set new goals and continue forward.
Training with Simon has been the best thing I’ve done for myself in quite a while. I can hardly put into words how much it has changed for me. I’ve become happier and gained more energy than before, while healthy eating has become a habit, as he taught me not to fuss over measuring and weighing amounts, but rather to find a regular way to eat healthy and follow my intuition.
I no longer have daily back pain and I’ve found the desire to train. I can hold the plank for 40 seconds with 55 lbs – I might say I even love the plank. Last but certainly not least, I’ve lost 14.6 lbs and 20 inches, something I actually never thought would happen, and I feel better than I have in years.
So, he was right! Now I’ll have to keep things going on my own, but I’ve made a promise to treat myself to a gift from time to time, the gift of a training course with Simon. There’s no better gift!”
